On 22 July 1995 Pete Merlin, Tony Moore, Len Moore and Lance Thompson visited the XB-51 crash site. Debris was scattered over a wide area. There was no discernible crater. The jet left only a trail of structural fragments, aluminum skin, engine turbine blades, and cockpit debris adjacent to the Edwards South Base complex. Pete and Tony gathered up a few pieces and later presented them to the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum.
